Coffee mornings are held twice a year in March and October on a Saturday morning at the Pauline Thaw Centre (Age Concern), Dale Avenue, Hassocks.
As well as being an opportunity to meet friends for a coffee and a chat it enables the Society to raise funds for a local environmental charity or project. Stalls generally include books, bric-a-brac, and homemade cakes as well as tombola and a raffle.
The next Coffee Morning is being held on Saturday 21st October 2017 from 10.00 am to 12 noon when we will be raising funds for St Peter and St James Hospice.
In recent years our coffee mornings have enabled us to make substantial donations to many worthwhile causes, including:
- The Working Horse Trust;
- The Village Tree Fund;
- The Monday Group;
- Hassocks Community Bus;
- Refurbishment of Adastra Hall Kitchen;
- Equipment for the Adastra Park playground;
- Environmental projects at Downlands School and Windmills School;
- Jill Windmill
